KUCHING: Cameroonian striker vows to fight his way back into Crocs squad.
Sarawak’s highly rated Cameroonian striker Kalle Sone Masue could make a shock return to the Croc’s first eleven as he is fast on the road to recovery.
“I am recovering. I would love to be given the chance to play for the Crocs again. I am a professional and I still have unfinished business here. I shall return to the squad soon,” said Kalle Sone in an exclusive interview with The Borneo Post yesterday.
Kalle provided glimpse of his brilliance and superior playing techniques during the Crocs’ pre-season tour where he netted a couple of spectacular goals.
He netted one goal in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) before becoming a long term guest on the crock list.
Kalle was subsequently sidelined from the Sarawak squad due to a groin injury which prompted Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) to sign a replacement striker in the form of Vedran Muratovic.
It was widely known that Vedran’s contract only last for six month and recent reports suggest that his insipid play and poor scoring conversion did go well with FAS.
In short, he is not going to be a permanent fixture in the Croc’s starting eleven.
“I have been staying in Kuching for more than two months after I was dropped from the Sarawak team. I never wanted to leave Sarawak as I love it here, especially the fans. They are fantastic – even better than what I saw in Europe. No way will I leave Sarawak without contributing anything in football for these passionate people,” he added further.
The former Vitesse Arnhem striker also pointed out that it was rather unfortunate for him to be injured at the beginning of the MSL.
The fans haven’t seen him much in action and they also have yet to see the best of him.
“I still have the ambition to be a top striker in the MSL. If not the best, maybe one of the top scorers will do for me.
“Everywhere I play, I always top the scoring list. I shall return to be in the Sarawak team list,” he said on his uncomplished ambition in Malaysia.
When asked about his activities in Sarawak since he left the team, Kalle explained that he was helping out with the Sarawak President’s Cup team. He also feels that he needs to keep fit if he wants to continue playing at the top level.
“I have been working with these youngsters since I stopped playing for Sarawak. I am very glad to share my experience with these future stars of Sarawak.
“They are very good. Give them time, and some of these youngsters could be playing for the national team,” enthused Kalle.
The next MSL foreign player’s tranfer window opens this April as fans of the Crocs awaits the return of the potent striker from Cameroon.
